A slip knot is how you begin most knitting and crochet projects.

Take the end of your yarn and make a loop by crossing it over the yarn coming from the ball.

Thread your first finger and thumb through the loop and pull through a loop from the tail end, holding onto the tail end and ball end of your yarn with your other hand to prevent them from popping through.

Pull to tighten. You can adjust the size of the loop by pulling on the short end.
