Step By Step

1.

To make this clutch, you need a 10mm crochet hook, a sewing needle, a bag clasp and a ball of our Crazy Sexy Wool.

2.

We will show you a few new techniques: how to make a slip knot and foundation chain, how to work in single crochet in the round and how to sew in the clasp.

3.

Make a slip knot by making a loop and making another loop through that loop. Place the slip knot on your crochet hook.

4.

Make a foundation chain of 18 stitches, which will form the base of your Cosy Up Clutch.

5.

Once you've reached 18 stitches, make one extra stitch; this will be your turning chain.

6.

You are now ready to work in single crochet across your foundation chain and this will begin to form the base of your Cosy Up Clutch.

7.

Begin by inserting your hook in the stitch which is 2 stitches along from where your hook is.

8.

Insert your hook, wrap your yarn around, pull it through the first loop, wrap your yarn around, pull it trough both loops - that's single crochet stitch. Keep repeating that until you are left with one loop at the end of your foundation chain.

9.

You are going to work two single crochet stitches in that last loop.

10.

You are now going to work in single crochet across the opposite side of the foundation chain.

11.

Now that you have one gap left, you are going to work two single crochet stitches into that final gap.

12.

You should now be able to count 38 stitches around the edge of your foundation chain.

13.

It's now time to start using a yarn marker. You are going to work a single crochet stitch and work right around the base of your clutch. You'll know that you've competed your first round when you reach your yarn marker. Pull out your yarn marker and reposition it on your work. Repeat these steps and continue working in single crochet until your Cosy Up Clutch measures 16 centimeters.

14.

It's now time to join your round with a slip stitch. Insert your hook, pull it through.

15.
