Push your needle from back to front in your first hole of the colour that you are working in, and pull it through.

Hold at least 2.5cm of thread in the back, you will be working back across this tail to secure.

Next, you will work into the square 1 row up and 1 across to the right.

Return back to front, working in the hole directly under the previous hole you worked in.

Make sure your tail at the back is caught underneath your stitch.

Repeat step 3-4 to end of row.

Now that you’re at the end of your shape, you’ll need to work up to the next row. You will be working in your same stitch, but right to left.

With your yarn at the back of your work, return back to front, working in the hole directly above the previous hole you worked in.

Next, work into the square 1 row down and 1 across to the left, it is a previously worked in hole.

Repeat steps 8-9 to end of row.

Continue working these rows in alternating, until your desired size.

To secure your needlepoint, bring your needle to the back of your work and thread it through the back of the stitches.
