This stitch is worked over a multiple of 4 stitches, plu 2 edge stitches.

Start your 1st row by knitting 3 stitches.

Make a yarn over by bringing the yarn to the front between the needles, then taking it over the right needle to the back of your work.

Then make a left-leaning decrease by slipping the next stitch knit-wise on to the right needle, then slipping the next stitch knit-wise as well. Insert your left needle back through both of these stitches in front of the right needle, then wrap the yarn around the right needle and complete as a normal knit stitch.

Then knit 2 stitches.

Repeat steps 3 to 5 until you have 3 stitches left of your row.

Repeat steps 3 and 4 once more, then knit the last stitch.

Start your 2nd row by purling 3 stitches.

Make a purl-wise yarn over by taking the yarn over the right needle and bringing it between the needles back to the front of your work.

Make a left-leaning purl decrease by inserting your right needle into the next 2 stitches purl-wise, then wrap the yarn around the right needle and complete the stitch as a normal purl stitch.

Then purl 2 stitches.

Repeat steps 9 to 11 until you have 3 stitches left of your row.

Repeat steps 9 and 10 once more, purl the last stitch.

Continue repeating these 2 rows to continue in Lace Rib stitch.
