Insert your needle into the 1st stitch of your row, wrap the yarn around your right needle as you normally would to knit a stitch, however this time you’re going to wrap it around the needle a second time as well. Pull both loops through the stitch and complete as a normal knit stitch, however you will have 2 loops on the right needle instead of just 1.

Repeat this process of double wrapping for every stitch along this row.

Now you have double the number of loops on your row and you are ready to work the second row.

Insert your right needle into the firsts of the two loops of the first stitch and knit it as normal. by wrapping the yarn around the needle just once. Once you have knitted the stitch, drop the second loop off of the left needle, this make the stitch taller giving the open effect of the fabric.

Repeat step 4 to the end of the row, you now have the same number of loops as you cast on.

Repeat steps 1 to 5 to continue working in Double Wrap Stitch.
