This stitch pattern is a 12 row repeat worked over a multiple of 8 stitches, plus 1 extra edge stitch.

Starting with a knit row, work 4 rows in stocking stitch.

Knit 3 stitches.

Instead of inserting your needle into the next stitch, insert it into the third stitch below the second stitch on the left needle, wrap the yarn around the needle and pull it through to create the first petal.

Knit 2 stitches, insert the needle through the same stittch as in step 4 and pull through another loop.

Knit 2 more stitches and insert the needle through the same stitch as step 4 and 5 again and pull through another loop.

Knit 4 sittches, then repeat steps 4 to 6.
