To work in bamboo stitch, you will be knitting in a two row repeat.

Cast on a multiple of 2 stitches.

Knit 1 stitch.

Yarn over, and knit 2 stitches.

Lift the yarn over with the tip of your left hand needle over the two stitches to the right.

Repeat steps 4-5 until you have 1 stitch left on your row, knit your last stitch.

For your second row, purl the entire row.

Continue repeating these 2 rows until you have your desired length.
