How to knit 3 stitch i-cord edging - step 1

Step 1

Cast on the number of stitches specified in your pattern.

I-cord edging is worked over the first 3 stitches of your row and is worked over a 2 row repeat.

Step 3

Row 1: knit 1 stitch, bring your yarn to the front of your work, slip the next stitch purl wise, then knit the next stitch. These 3 stitches make up your right side I-cord edging. For the rest of the row work in whatever pattern your pattern instructs you.

Row 2: Work up until the last 3 stitches as your pattern instructs and then slip 1 stitch purl wise, knit the next stitch, bring your yarn forward again and slip stitch 1 purl wise.
