About This Sock Kit
Introducing the ‘Magpie’ socks, designed exclusively for us by award-winning British Designer Bethany Williams in partnership with The Magpie Project. This free pattern comes with instructions for both adult and child sizes up to the age of 5, and on this page you can purchase your tools and enough yarn to make a pair of mummy and baby socks. Once you master makers have stitched up your socks we would love it if you could donate them to The Magpie Project, a charity supporting homeless and at risk mums and babies in East London, England.
About The Magpie Project
The Magpie Project is a charity based in Newham, East London. 1 in 12 children are homeless in the London Borough of Newham, a number Jane, Founder of the Magpie Project, felt she had to do something about. “We provide practical support and advice to homeless or insecurely housed mothers and children with a series of supported stay and plays and sign-up courses.” They also provide food, clothes and more and are in need of donations, especially socks, and will be so grateful for every pair of ‘Magpie’ socks knitted and sent to them.
