1.

Pick up 30 stitches on either side of your yellow waste yarn. Distribute them evenly over your four double pointed needles (dpns).

2.

Once you have picked up your stitches you can remove your waste yarn. Don’t worry, your stitches are safe on your needles.

3.

Working from your mini ball of heel yarn, begin your round by picking up a stitch at one side of the heel. This will prevent any gaps from forming.

4.

Knit across the next two needles. Before knitting the stitches on your third needle, pick up and knit a stitch to close the gap at the edge of the heel. Knit to the end of your round. You should now have 16 stitches on your first and third needles, and 15 stitches on your second and fourth needles.
