Billie Jean Yarn is made using upcycled pre-consumer denim waste. This waste is ground back into fibre and woven into our new Billie Jean Yarn. Using no chemicals and no dyes, we manage to save 20,000 litres of water per kilogram of upcycled material.

This yarn drapes like Shiny Happy Cotton, and feels like a dry, light cotton. We have designed specific pieces to work with Billie Jean Yarn, but you can also use patterns made for our Shiny Happy Cotton (note that you'll need roughly 5% more Billie Jean).

Billie Jean Yarn has been developed in collaboration with The New Denim Project, a project within a 3rd generation family textile factory promoting conscious consumption and investment in sustainable materials.

Please Note: Bille Jean Yarn is upcycled denim yarn that will perform like most blue jeans, with the possibility to fade a little during the first wash and with a small amount of colour transfer.

We're updating our Billie Jean packaging! This does not apply to most of the colours yet - but our brand new Indigo Denim will come in the new ball formation, similar to our Shiny Happy Cotton.

Works Well With These Stitches: Stocking Stitch, Arcade Stitch, 1x1 Rib Stitch, Double Crochet

Washing Instructions
Hand wash only in cold or lukewarm water - do not exceed 30 degrees / Use a delicates hand wash detergent / Give your knits a gentle squeeze and leave in the water for a few minutes / Once done, roll in a clean towel to remove excess water and then dry flat.

Note: as this product is upcycled denim it will perform as most blue jeans and there is possibility it will fade during the first wash and have a small amount of colour transfer.
