A self-proclaimed “fibre fanatic,” Meredith Crawford began blogging about her love for knitting and crochet back in 2010. One Social Girl brings together everything you’d ever want in a blog: fun photography and DIYs you actually want to make.

Meredith’s first blog, One Sheepish Girl, started out as a fun hobby where she could share crochet tips and projects. On top of her obvious love for yarn, she quickly realised her interests in both photography and social media, adding to her blog’s success. In 2014 she even published her first book, Crochet with Sheepish Girl, which is all about creativity with a vintage vibe!

Recently, Meredith went from sheepish to social, launching her new blog, One Social Girl, in 2016. There, you can find all of Meredith’s knitting and crochet projects, as well as roundups of recent textile trends. Plus, in her series, The Blush List, she shares her favourite recipes, crafts and more.

We’re always up for trying a fun DIY project (our blog is pretty much full of them), so Meredith’s posts immediately caught our eye. Her Valentine’s Day DIY project, the Crochet Lips Sweater, would make anyone feel the love – plus, you can even make it with our Shiny Happy Cotton shade, Lipstick Red.

We also love a good garland (remember our Shamrock bunting for St. Patrick’s Day?). If you’re like us and can’t wait for summer, Meredith’s Watermelon Shamrock will tide you over until those SPF-filled days are finally upon us. Great for the intermediate knitter, all you need is a 5mm crochet hook and colourful shades of Shiny Happy Cotton yarn!

Colourful crochet watermelon slices which you can learn how to make on One Social Girl.

Want to see more for yourself? Check out Meredith’s blog, One Social Girl. You can try out her DIYs, or read more about her current projects – like the Sun is Shining Top and the Circle Game Cushion. Plus, you can follow her on Instagram and Facebook. Thanks for being our Blogger of the Month, Meredith!
