Grab your gang and host a Wool and the Gang Party!

Get your gang together and knit up a storm in the comfort of your own home.

Knitting and crochet are a brilliant way to kick back and relax. Whilst many of us get our make on at home or on the go, it’s also really good fun to join forces and create together with friends and colleagues. Wool and the Gang love Knit Parties, and we know you guys really love them too! We now have FIVE fantastic party projects for you to choose from. Each party kit comes with all the supplies you’ll need and an easy to follow pattern.

Don’t worry – anyone, regardless of skill level, can host or come along as our party projects can be made in three different difficulty levels. We’ll supply you with a tutorial page dedicated to making your chosen project, with plenty of videos to get everyone started.

So, whatcha waiting for?

Get started on hosting your own Party, or say YES if your friend’s invited you!

The team here at Wool and the Gang HQ LOVE a party, so we’ve put our heads together to come up with five top tips for hosting a most excellent event.

We know you’re full of great ideas too, so why not post your own party tricks in the comments below?

In the meantime, here goes…

MUSIC:  You need a good playlist up your sleeve to set the vibe of your event. You can find endless playlists on Spotify, however our tried and tested knit-list is right here.

Jade’s tip: Keep it chilled and laid-back. Anything too frenetic may get your knit sticks in a twist!

FOOD: Don’t get too caught up in your knits and purls that you forget to eat! Opt for finger food and nibbles. For those of you with a sweet tooth, these Swedish Cinnamon Buns come highly recommended.

Lena’s tip:  If you want go crazy, you can add almond paste to the middle of the buns before popping them in the oven.  Just be warned – one is never enough ; )

DRINK:  Keep your Gang well-watered with a refreshing beverage. We love this classic lemonade recipe from Nigel Slater.

Ben’s tip: throw in loads of fresh mint, crushed ice, and – if you like a tipple – a healthy dash of rum.

DECORATIONS: Let your imagination run wild – check out sites like Pinterest for inspiration. If you’re going big budget then check out our studio-mates Bonbon Balloons - you name it, they can pop it inside a balloon. If you’re a girl of more slender means then get your make on – check out this Brit + Co tutorial to see what you can fashion out of a few pieces of paper and a lil’ TLC.

Clara’s tip: Comfort is king. Apply a liberal smattering of cushions and beanbags and turn the cosy-factor up to eleven.

#SHAREYOURKNITS: You’ve set the scene and your guests are having a blast – what better way to show off your skills than posting your Party pics on social media.

Ali’s tip: Encourage everyone to take photos as they go and upload them to your social media platform of choice – we’re @woolandthegang on Instagram and Twitter, and plain old Wool and the Gang on Facebook. If you’re a Ravelry user you can upload your project for all to see.
